The Weekend And Other Stuff

A few days ago I made some paper Halloween monsters, Little Brother made one too. I put them up on the window by the front door. (I'll post some pictures later).

This Friday I made some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, this was my first time baking something by myself (okay not completely by myself, I admit Little Brother stirred a few times, and mom told me what to do at some points--other than that, by myself), it was fun--and tasty.

On Saturday we went to Portland with grandma, we went to OMSI Museum, a vegan place called Red & Black Cafe, and a store called IKEA. I had fun, but it was nice to come back home.

First Friday Fill-In

What inspired me to do Friday Fill-Ins? The fact that I couldn't think of anything else to post.

1. Making yummy pumpkin treats and doing Halloween stuff are some of the things I'm most looking forward to in October.
2. Sometimes I think about how my life would be in the future if I'm married and have children, and then I wonder how on earth I would teach them to walk and talk and other important stuff.
3. Someone made up the saying, and that's why there is a saying, "never say never"!
4. When I'm down, I cry.
5. In my house, underneath my loft bed, by my desk, and in front of my laptop is where you'll find me most often.
6. A rainy day is good for having a window seat you can look out of and see the raindrops pitter pattering down the glass, unfortunately, I don't have a window seat.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to hanging out with family, maybe watching or doing something, tomorrow my plans include planning what I'm going to do on Sunday, and hanging out, and Sunday, I want to leave the house, well we are going to.!

Yesterday I bought myself a laptop (with my saved up birthday money) for $399.99, it has a 14.1" screen and weighs about five pounds. I got it at a Best Buy in Salem and I've been trying it out to make sure I don't need to return it. So far so good. (just thought I might mention that I wrote up this post on my new laptop)

I've been practically living on the couch, because I was sore and when I stood up I felt queasy, we all were throwing up and stuff... There was a pirate festival thing, it was going on for three days, we went on the second day which was Saturday, and me, Galaxy and Little Brother dressed up like pirates. We had fun, we went with grandma and parents, and we ate some shaved ice stuff, went on a wild monster truck ride, went on a little train with little brother and learned a bit about history and stuff. I had a fun time. Also afterwards, we hung out by a lake nearby, surprisingly I found several tiny whole shells (and I couldn't find one whole shell on the beach!). Then we walked on a trail, and ate then went home, on the way we saw a cool butterfly, (I think it was a Monarch Butterfly) me and Big Sister changed out of pirate costumes. And Grandma departed.

Me and Little Brother were stung by a wasp. He was stung on his bottom and I was stung on my ankle bone. It hurt, kind of a sharp sting-y pain. It's sad Little Brother got stung too, he's so young, he was saying "Ow...Ow...", poor little guy! I feel better now, and I think he does too, hopefully we'll both be at our best tomorrow.

Baby Birthday!

Today is Baby Brother's birthday! He's turning 1! It's so exciting! Sadly dad has to work today, so Baby Brother hasn't opened any presents. Except that yesterday I had dad bring home some boxes so we could cut them up for birthday boy to crawl through, so I drew on the box where I wanted dad to cut it, and afterwards I had to vacuum up little shaving of cardboard, but mom finished vacuuming. I put little furnishings inside, and gave it to Baby Brother today as a present, he really likes it, so does Little Brother.

Cherries & Summer Nights

I love cherries! We got some yesterday but we ate them all quickly, they are devoured very fast... Anyway, last night I went outside, it was warm and cozy, a bit dark but very nice. I love summer nights, they're almost always great...
So today grandma came over--because she couldn't come, and we couldn't go visit on her birthday--and we hung out and had fun. So far summer has been nice...Happy Summer to you!

Yes, I stopped blogging for a while...it's just keeping the posts up was getting harder and harder...but now I've decided I will post when I want to, that may be often or rare, so be prepared for long pauses or two posts in one day two days in a row. So anyway, here's what has happened:

My Birthday

I would have posted this sooner, but I was a little busy and lazy.

So here I give you my rushed birthday post!

Anyway, my birthday started out where I woke up at 7:00 maybe? Anyway, I had to wait about an hour before mom and dad woke up (because they had had to stay up late to finish preparing for my b-day). When they did, I opened a few presents, which were: A suit case that came with a backpack and some sort of bag from mom and dad, The Sims 2 (a game by Electronic Arts) Free Time from Galaxy, The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff from mom and dad, a pink toiletry bag, and I read a card from my grandma and grandpa (who weren't there), and a card from Galaxy and a very cute one from Little Brother (he even wrapped it in wrapping paper).
After that we ate breakfast which was waffles with berries, syrup, whipped cream and chocolate chips. Then I got some not wrapped presents, which were a bunch of foot covers which I had been wanting for a while. Afterwards I played the Sims 2 until it was time for lunch. For lunch I had Two Bean Chili and bread, and we ate a few cherries. Then I played Sims for a bit more until Nana and D arrived. I had dad take pictures of me and then I worked on a song I had written a while ago, it was a spy themed song so I thought it would fit the mood. I didn't get a good recording before the guests arrived, when they did we decided our secret agent code names and took pictures and thumb prints for our ID cards. My secret agent name was "So Secret I Can't Even Tell YOU!", S.S.ICETY for short. Then, we played secret agent themed games like: Double Agent (which is like Old Maid only it's a double agent instead), a game where we pass around a "bomb" and try not to let it explode, target practice with sleeping darts (small Nerf guns), and pin the disguise on the agent.
Now we had mission briefing at A.A.M.C.C. (American Agent Master Control Center), and then the real mission began. During the mission I got a Swiss army knife, and something to hold pills. For dinner we had pizza and spaghetti, and I got the rest of the presents from mom and dad which were: nail clippers, a picture framer, glow in the dark silly puddy, ear phones, and a small pink case. Then we had cake and ice cream and everyone left, I played The Sims 2 and we watched stuff, and afterwards we went to bed.

Well, at first it was because I had fifth disease,then it was because I didn't know what to say, then I was lazy. So now I will give you an update: Galaxy now has fifth disease, she has a recital today which I am gonna watch and so is mom and my grandma and D (dad is not watching it today because Galaxy also had a recital yesterday and he watched it then, and we need someone to watch Baby Brother--although he might be able to come in if Baby brother falls asleep or something...).

Back From The Trip

We got back from the coast yesterday. We had a great time! It began where we arrived at our hotel, we got into out room--it was wonderful! There was a balcony and a kitchenette, there were comfy couches and pillows, there was a bathroom with a shower tub and two sinks, there was a king size bed (we brought also a blow-up bed), there was a jacuzzi in the main room and a dresser and mirror. We only had enough time to eat, put down our suitcases and use the restroom. We then went out to go on a trip on a boat for three hours with other homeschoolers, mom stayed at the hotel with Little and Baby Brothers. It was cool because the ship was a re-creation of The Lady Washington, and that re-created boat was used in The Pirates Of The Caribbean as The Interceptor, and that was cool. The boat ride was disappointing but I had some fun. A bunch of people got sick, we did a bit. We all got cold and sopping wet, and I was glad we had a jacuzzi in our room. We hung out in the jacuzzi when we got back to the hotel. We did a bit of unpacking and then dined out at Cafe Mundo. I enjoyed the food, but the wait was a little long and they played music while we ate, and I don't really like music when I eat. After eating we went back to the hotel and swam in the pool. Afterwards I showered and we hung out a bit. After a while we went to bed. The next morning, we ate and then went down to the beach. We played a bit and then I combed for seashells then went into the water, but no further than up to my knees. At first the water was cold, but then I became so numb that I couldn't tell, then some of the water felt warm. When we were done we went back to the hotel and I showered off a bit then hung out. Then we went down to the pool, but Baby brother got upset so mom left, then the rest of us left. after a while we were hungry so we left to the store which was supposed to have a deli. But the deli was closed so we got frozen food at Fred Meyers instead. We also picked up some waffles and strawberries. We ate and then watched a movie we had brought. Then we went to sleep. The next morning we had waffles for breakfast, we went down to the beach and played for a bit. We all showered and then went into the jacuzzi, then we started packing. We checked out, and then stopped by the candy shop and got some salt water taffies. We went to a different restaurant to eat, but they were on vacation. We then went back to the store because the deli was open that day, but they didn't have anything there. So we left. I fell asleep in the car. We were going to drop off Galaxy at ballet, but she didn't have her ballet gear and we didn't have enough time to go home and get it and she was sick so we picked up food at nearly normals and went home. We had a GREAT time! THE END. I'll put up some pictures in the next post! Bye!

Last American Idol (a show on Fox) episode, they were doing songs from someone who wrote a bunch of musicals, one of which is a version of the musical "The Phantom Of The Opera". Anyway, some of the contestants did songs from it, and then family wanted to search on youtube for the ones from the musical, we listened to the 2004 version and loved it. Now everyone wants to watch it, and I can't get those songs out of my head!!! So, The Phantom Of The Opera Is Stuck! Inside my head.

Easter 08

Sorry this is a little overdue, but I realized it made more sense to post about Easter today. I had a lot of fun! The first thing we did was clean which wasn't so fun...but then we played with family, then trained Little Brother on how to find the plastic Easter-eggs for our hunt. After that I stuffed the eggs with whatever I could find that I thought fit (some things I made, some things I found in our Easter box), I'll admit Galaxy did one, and Little Brother did about three or four. So soon after we (me Galaxy and Little Brother) put makeup on (we would have used face paint but we couldn't find any...or maybe something happened to it...) so we looked like bunnies, and did a little bunny dance (that we named The Bunny Hop) to Peter Cottontail we had just made up the day before (which originally had just me and Galaxy, but Little Brother was just so cute we had to make him part of it), with also our home-made bunny ears and tails and some gloves. And finally we had our Easter egg hunt! It was inside and I ended up helping Little Brother a bit...and of course I have to let you know that I found the most eggs and here is a picture of what was in them:

Perfect Toast

Today I invented this delicious toast. I call it Apple Almond Cinnamon Pecan Toast, it's not that hard to make, and I'll even give you the recipe!

One peace of toast, golden brown in the middle.

A thin layer of almond butter (I'll admit I didn't come up with the almond butter part...it was mom's idea really...but I came up with everything else), make sure it's thin, or it might not taste as good.

One layer of Crofter's Organic Apple Jelly.

One crumbled Pecan, you can use more if you wish.

Sprinkles of Cinnamon, here's a picture to give you an idea:

So that's my toast recipe, it's good for a snack (or maybe some during breakfast) or a little dessert, hope you enjoy it (if you try it) as much as I do!

Not Working

For some reason my blog hasn't been working right...maybe it has something to do with the computer I'm working on. I've tried to post several times, but it just doesn't except (I'll be lucky if this one comes through). Anyway, Little Brother got his hair cut somewhat yesterday. I took a picture, hopefully you can tell it's different:

In case you can't read their name tags (which you probably can't read the one on the right considering that the flash is glaring on it, it's written in yellow--which is very hard to see--and to top it off I couldn't fit all the letters on it) the one on the left is Simon, the one in the middle is Janus, and the one on the right is Alexander. And if you're wondering, the duct tape on Alexander is supposed to be armor and the colored tape on the other people is clothes. I haven't found a way to officially stick their hair on, but when I do I'll probably post about it (which will most likely follow with how I made them in the first place).

Time Is Faster Now...

I've noticed that time has been passing a lot faster for me...I hardly have any time to do anything...fifteen minutes is like fifteen seconds...an hour just washes away like it never was there...I can't even keep track of the days. I haven't found the time to blog in a while (not that I've had much to blog about...except this). I wish that time would be slow again, I wouldn't mind if it felt like eternity when I'm bored...so long as it feels like eternity when I'm having fun. Just thought I'd share, since I can't think of anything else to post at the moment. Hopefully I'll find time to blog more!

Today is also Mom and Dad's anniversary! We haven't done really much to celebrate it...just dad took off work today. We also ordered some cake from "sweet life" for daddy's birthday (which is the 18th), and doing so we decided to order a late anniversary cake thing that is called a "silk" to eat on his birthday as well. I don't really know why it's called a "silk", but it fits since it's Mom and Dad's "silk"--just some weird thing about how long you've been married (11th year is steel and 12th is silk...ect.)--anniversary!

I saw this link on Qacei's blog to a virtual barber shop, and I tried it out after Galaxy did...and it was AMAZING!!! You simply hook up headphones, put them on, click this link, hit play (if it isn't already playing), sit back, close your eyes, and listen. It is SCARY I couldn't believe my ears!!! I couldn't believe that I wasn't actually sitting having a haircut...go do it, NOW!!! Today was a WONDERFUL day! It started out where we just arrived at Corvallis at 11:50ish to drop Galaxy off at ballet, then we had to drop mom off at "Sunny Side Up" for a meeting she had planned for homeschooling parents. At first, everything seemed "okay" until we went to the Starbucks connected to Noah's Bagels, and daddy got little brother an Odwalla smoothie (super food...or super fruit...I don't know...) and himself a coffee, and then we bumped into some friends I hadn't seen in FOREVER! And I had a lot of fun with that but I'll move on now, so then it was time to pick up Galaxy so we said goodbye and left. So after we picked her up we went to mommy at Sunny Side Up and we hung out there for a while and managed to talk with another friend we hadn't seen in a while, Qacei, so we had a grand time talking about all sorts of things...but we eventually had to leave at around 3:00, then I thought we were going home but actually we went tea tasting at Borders and we had some DELICIOUS Chai Tea soy latte' and it was GOOD... So after that we decided to find out where we could eat dinner, and we thought maybe we could see if there was anyone available to hang out with and eat with. So after calling some one (while eating Cuties--vegan ice cream sandwiches--from First Alternative), finding out they were busy, we decided to call another friend we hadn't seen in a while, they couldn't make it for dinner but we managed to schedule a get-together that day. We finally decided to eat a pita from Pita Pit and get Little Brother a sun burger from Nearly Normals and we ate in the car. But after we ate we decided to go pick up some cookies first, and Baby Brother got fussy so we had to sit in the car while mom appeased him, and that gave us time to eat the cookies. Once Baby Brother was happy, we went over to the friends house and played for a while. We had a lot of fun, but eventually (somewhere around 7:47-8:00...I think) we had to leave for home. And so there you have it! One of the best Saturdays!

It's Snowing!

Today it actually snowed! It was wonderful! Me Galaxy and Little Brother went outside and ate snow, we made a little snow man and named him "Sam", but he wasn't strong enough and when we tried to put the carrot in he crumbled so we sea sawed instead. After that we ate snow off the tarp of our swing set and shook so there was an avalanche that got on us (and boy was that fun!), then daddy came home and we had a snow ball fight with him. It was SOOO much fun! So we finally went inside because our fingers were cold and we didn't want to get frost bite, and also mommy made chili and I was looking forward to eating that...so we had a wonderful time in the snow today!

"Hot Tub" Party

Today, we came up with the idea to turn the birth tub (mom had a home birth with Baby Brother) into a hot tub! We will fill it up with hot water, get into our bathing suits, and eat treats! Now it kinda turned into some kind of party...I mean, we are going to maybe watch movies, eat delicious parfait-pudding, and swim in the "hot tub"! We (well...at least I think WE) are SO looking forward to this!

My view on blogging has completely changed since I first started. When I first created my blog I never even thought it possible to have multiple blogs...(but now I have three and a half...I say half because I made one with Galaxy) and I thought I would just post like once a month...but now I'm raking my brains every week for something to post about! Also I thought "I'll just talk about a few things...", now, I realize that there are a lot of things I should have written when I started. Also, I thought that I had a unique name and that I could surely have the URL I had chosen...but no...I wanted it to be http://meingeneral.blogspot.com/ but someone had already done that... so I had to do http://me-in-general.blogspot.com/ . Well now, I think of blogging completely different...

ANOTHER BUMP!!!

(See post "Big Bump") This time, it was my knee. I can't quite recall how it happened--because at the moment, I didn't think much of it...I only really put on an ice pack when it started to hurt (which was a while afterwards)--I just remember that somehow I fell and hit my knee on the ground and that bruised it. I don't know if it's going to swell or not, yet, but I'm keeping it safe by keeping an ice pack on it.

I really wish I could find a class that I like, I really want to do more than sit on the couch all day...I hardly do anything, I've been more of the 'stay home' type. I even made a list of classes I want to take...but we haven't found a place where I can do them yet... Here They Are:

I've now decided that if I cannot think of anything to post about I will post about what happened that day and what I wish I had most now and what I am currently doing:

Today I: Got up at (WHY?!) 1:00pm and ate waffles, then I did pretty much nothing. Then daddy came home and me and Little Brother played Harry Potter 1. Then Little Brother threw a fit, then dad (usually mom does it but now she's sick) made sherbet and we ate it. After that I played games on Orisinal (some site with a bunch of different games).
I Wish: I had a home-made pizza! Waaaaa!

Big Bump

Today, when I was sitting in the chair in the office, I leaned back too far and the chair tipped over. So now I bumped my head and there's a big bump on it...great! It happened earlier today so now it feels better...but it still hurts when any pressure gets on it. I don't have to hold an ice pack on it anymore but it isn't healed. I hope it doesn't hurt me when I rest it up on my pillow...Oohhh weelll.

Christmas Present

This Christmas, I got some neat presents. I got a bunch of presents before Christmas, on Christmas eve (books and stuff from relatives). But on Christmas day, I got this weird sort of container thingy with drawers (from one of my grandmas), a robe and PJs (also from her). From mom and dad I got this cool pink MP3 player, it's like the tiniest MP3 ever! I didn't even know they made them that small!

So it's a little under 2" tall, or long or whatever. I have a few songs on it, not that many but I'll have more...eventually. Merry Christmas (or 'after Christmas')!

After being tagged (see earlier post) I realized that I kind of want to write down a few more thing about myself, here it goes:

11: (since I left off on number 10, I might as well go from 11 here) My favorite animals are dolphins, in fact, I even made another blog (http://thedeepseamammals.blogspot.com/) for all the cool facts I've learned about them (like did you know that dolphins can actually drive away sharks? I don't know how but it's a fact!).

12: If I had to choose my favorite holiday (so hard to choose, they're all so much fun!), I guess I would say my birthday because that's my special day that we do whatever I want.

13: If I had to choose my favorite song, I really don't know, but I do really like "Open Up Your Heart And Let The Sun Shine In".

14: I LOVE books. It's so magical, like you're in a different world!

15: If I could have one super power out of all there are I would choose shape shifting.

(Apparently, tagged in blog land is that if you've been tagged, you have to write ten random facts about yourself and choose ten people you want to tag...or something like that.) Normally, I wouldn't do this kind of thing, but my Big sister (who tagged me in the first place)--and my mom--is making me do this (I'm not quite sure what kind of things you're supposed to tell but OK):

1: I would like to wear tight fitting shirts 'cause I don't really like loose and baggy, but most of my shirts are loose.

2: My favorite color is 'Pink', I LOVE pink, I just do, there really is no more to it.

3: I'm a weirdo and I like that. If you're too normal, you're just kind of boring.

4: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Chocolate.

5: I am Christian.

6: I am a vegan and now, I could never go back to meat or dairy. Yuck!

7: I love bell-bottom pants, and lately, I don't like wearing pants that don't have a little furl up at the bottom.

8: My favorite ice cream flavor is gold medal ribbon (although now that I am a vegan I can't really have it since there isn't any of that in soy or rice cream).

BAD Habit

Today I'm almost recovered from being sick, but when I had chicken-pox,I couldn't keep myself from picking at my scabs (it's a bad habit of mine) so now I have two craters in between my forehead and my nose (where some of my chicken-pox scabs were). Apparently almond oil is supposed to help skin heal, so now my mom makes me put it on the craters every morning and every night...but that's what you get for picking at scabs.

Chicken Pox

I got sick with chicken pox, I've had it for a while now, and I tell you it's horrible! My little brother had it too, but he's already gotten over it. My sister has chicken pox as well, she's one day farther from being healthy then I am. The sad thing is, my baby brother got it a few days ago, and I feel horrid enough. To think how a poor baby would feel with chicken pox! I just hope we all get better soon, that my baby brother doesn't suffer too much and that we don't get any scars. I hate chicken pox!
